Pilgrim’s Progress: A Dramatization

Please take time to quiet your soul, turn up the volume modestly, and sit back for a dramatization of your story (and mine) within the the already-not-yet glorious kingdom of God. It beautifully portrays God’s wonderful promise to us “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
[Trust me, this is worth the 5:33 minutes!]

  1. Second time watching it now in the last 4 hours. Unbelievable. Brought me to tears both times.

    Thank you Lord for this! Been feeling a bit emotionally disconnected lately.

    Quick note. Been going thru your ‘Spiritual Disciplines material’ with a friend, and this brings to mind the prayer from John Newton you included in your ‘Prayer, Fasting, Journaling’ section. Is as follows:

    “I asked the Lord that I might grow
    in faith and love and every grace;
    might more of his salvation know,
    and seek, more earnestly, his face.

    I thought that in some favoured hour
    at once he’d answer my request;
    and by his love’s constraining power,
    subdue my sins and give me rest.

    Instead of this, he made me feel
    the hidden evils of my heart,
    and let the angry powers of hell
    assault my soul in ev’ry part.

    ‘Lord, why is this?’ I trembling cried,
    ‘Wilt thou pursue thy worm to death?;
    ‘Tis in this way’ the Lord replied,
    ‘I answer prayer for grace and faith.

    These inward trials I employ
    from self and pride to set thee free,
    And break thy schemes of earthly joy,
    ‘That thou may’st seek thy ALL in me!”

    Link to Paul’s Spiritual Disciplines material is below, for those interested. It’s crucial stuff as a follower of Christ… to become more like Christ. About half way down the page:
