Oh how joyful life is when looking UP through the eyes of God, and not DOWN through our own! Boy can it ever be painful, humiliating and/or humbling to get there though. ‘Twas for me!
Lord, may I daily see through your eyes.
Yes indeed how sweet it is to see with the eyes of heaven.
For more on this, see especially Psalm 73. This Psalm clearly spells out our despair when we see life through earthly eyes. All is opaque, dense, foggy, confused, and sadly obscure. Yet, with heaven’s eyes (see v. 17ff), all becomes clear, lucid, cogent, simple, structured, and beautiful in the end.
It comes down to this – our best view is from on our knees.
Daily I pray for just a little of that wisdom. We’re told early in Ecclesiastes that God grants us that wisdom and through it we can see success and happiness, else all of our works are like chasing the wind.
I pray again Father for Your Wisdom, to be able to see, even just a little, through Your eyes, my life of folly and earthly madness. I pray that You provide me the ability to understand the mysteries that have until now seemed so far off.
