Everything is in bloom now. Of course it’s Spring so it should be. But, in arid Arizona desert any burst of color is a big deal! While walking my dog yesterday and seeing all the color around me, I remembered the great jazz classic entitled “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most.” Immediately I recalled my favorite recording of this by Chaka Khan, which I had not heard in more than 20 years. So, when I returned from my neighborhood stroll I launched iTunes and found it on the album “Echoes of an Era” featuring none other than, Lenny White (drums), Joe Hendersen (tenor sax), Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Chick Corea (piano), and Stanley Clarke (bass). I used to own this album (yes, I mean “album” as in vinyl!). This is fine, fine vintage jazz and well worth every cent (all six hundred ninety-nine of them)! Download and enjoy!
